Garnet Marie Olson, age 22, Green Bay, died May22,1999 as the result of an auto accident on Highway VV Menominee Indian Reservation.

She was born May 6, 1977 in Green Bay to Richard and Judith (LaRock Long) Olson. Garnet was a graduate of Bayport High School Class of 1995. She was active in Traditional Dancing since the age of 7; reigning as the Menominee Princess 1995-96. Garnet was employed at Information Management Corporation in Green Bay.

Survivors include her fiance, Anthony Paul Peters of Green Bay; her parents Richard (Eleanore) Olson of South Branch and Judith LaRock Long of Green Bay; her son, Anthony Paul Peters, Jr. at home; five brothers Dana Long and Joseph (Chris) Long, both of Green Bay, Darryl LaRock of Suring, Joseph Olson and Edwin Olson, both of Green Bay; six sisters Debra Baillie and Glenda Long, both of Green Bay, Lisa (Wayne)Pickatd, Valerie Olson, April Olson, and Twila Olson, all of South Branch; paternal grandparents, Hilllary "Luke" (Lucille) Warrington of South Branch; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at the Richard "Buckshot" Olson residence Highway AA, South Branch, Monday, May 24, after 4:00 p.m. Prayer Vigil was held Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (today) at St. Joseph’s of the Lake Catholic Church in South Branch with Father David Barrett officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring, was in charge of arrangements.
