Gloria LeMay(1921 - 2016)

LeMay, Gloria

Gloria LeMay, 95, of Oconto, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Parkview Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Green Bay. She was born on February 6, 1921, in Oconto. She attended Oconto High School, graduating in 1939. In her junior year of high school she was elected prom queen. Gloria married John B. LeMay on March 30, 1940. They were married for 70 years. Gloria was a member, trustee and a deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Oconto. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over fifty years. Gloria was a wonderful cook, especially of pasty, homemade bread and cookies. She also loved to do Scandinavian rosemaling.

Gloria is survived by her children, Loreli Dickinson, Oconto and Warren (Tammara) LeMay, Sun Prairie; four grandchildren, Matthew LeMay and Aimee (Dan) LeMay Murphy; David Dickinson and Melinda (Tim) Frank; and four great grandchildren, Kian, Jaeger and Maisie Frank and Henry Dickinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. LeMay; parents, Henry and Josephine Behnke; stepmother, Delina; three sisters, Inez (Wayne) Madison, Dorothy (Oscar) Krause, and Marcella (Harry) Blase; two brothers, Roland (Lucille) and Donald (Dorothy) Behnke; and son-in-law, Robert Dickinson.

The family will receive relatives and friends at First Presbyterian Church, Oconto, from 9 to 11 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Craig Alwin officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Parkview Manor in Green Bay for their excellent and compassionate care of Gloria over these past several years. Thanks also to Genesis Rehab Services for rehabilitation therapy. We also are grateful for the services provided by Hospice Compassus over the past few months. Memorials in Gloria's name can be made to Bread by the Bay food pantry in Oconto.
