She was born in Crandon October 4, 1923 to the late William and Catherine (Obrien) Joas. She married Henry Willes June 2, 1942 in Gillett. The couple lived all of their married life in Mountain except for 12 years spent in Michigan. Gerry was an avid Packer fan, enjoyed playing cards, did crossword puzzles, and loved to play her guitar and sing. She was a member of the Mountain Church of Christ.
Survivors include her loving husband for 58 years, Henry Willes of Mountain; her daughter, Jeraldine Miller, of Gillett; her son, Ronald (Sue) Willes, of Gillett; two brothers, William (Carolyn) Joas, of East Troy, Larry (Pat) Joas of Manitowoc; two sisters, Alice (Mark) Gagnon, of Manitowoc, Lulabelle (Leonard) Koch, of Green Bay; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring. Funeral service was 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 17 at Mountain Church of Christ with Pastor Robert Jeffrey officiating. Burial in Mountain Cemetery.
