George G. Edlebeck

George G. Edlebeck, 85, of Coleman, died Monday, July 24, 2000 at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette.

He was born to the late Louis And Mary (Hallada) Edlebeck March 23, 1915 in Wausaukee, WI. George attended Wausaukee Schools and married the former Violet Krause on November 9, 1940 in Wausaukee. The couple farmed in Wausaukee until 1949 when they moved to a farm in Lena which they sold in 1977 and retired to Coleman (Town of Pound). George was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lena, a two term president of Holy Name Society, and presently was Chief Ranger of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Court number 682. He was special Deputy in Oconto County, for 25 years and Deputy Coroner for John Fischer. George was also a member of the Lena Knights of Columbus and treasurer of Sunny Brook School until its closing. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother-in-law, Ken Krause.

Surviving are his wife, Violet; one daughter, Kathy (Marrell) Westcot, Abrams; one son, Mike (Judy) Edlebeck, Green Bay; one grandson, Todd Westcot, Milwaukee; one brother-in-law, Ken Krause, Pound; one sister-in-law, Della Buchholz, Menomonee Falls, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by three sisters, Miss Mayme Edlebeck, Mrs. Anne Weber, and Sister Winifred Edlebeck. Friends called at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena, where a Knights of Columbus Service and a Parish Wake Service was held. The Funeral Mass was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lena,

Thursday at 11 a.m. with both Father Frank Schrage and Msgr. Alfred Schneider officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery Wausaukee.
