He was born April 1, 1904 in Oconto. He married the former Mildred Stark Dec. 29, 1948 in Oconto. He taught high school at Gaylord, Mich. and priceton, Ill. for six years. he was owner and operator of hall Abstract Co. in Oconto which has been operated by the family since 1855. He was a Warden at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, a member of Kiwanis American Legion, V.F.W. Elks, lifetime director of the Oconto county Historical
Society and also a member of Wisconsin Historical Society. He was a veteran of World War 11 serving in the army.
Mr. Hall was widely known and beloved as "Mr. Oconto County Historical Society".
He not only the motivator and the planner for the birth of the Oconto County Historical Society, but personally helped restore many historical landmarks in the area.
Last summer a special "Jimmie Hall Day" was held at the Beyer Mansion Museum in Oconto. He did much for the restoration and preservation of the museum - one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area.
Besides his active work in the historical society, he also was a community and county organizations.
As one friend described Mr. Hall: "He was sincerely concerned about people and doing things for the betterment of their communities. Those type of rare individuals are difficult to find these days."
Survivors are his wife; one brother, D. Hall of Oconto; three nephews, Richard D. Hall of Green bay, Richard T. Hood of Milwaukee and Peter A. Stark of Oconto.
A prayer service was held Tuesday evening at the Gallagher-Pinkart Funeral home. Funeral services were held at St. Mark's Episcopal church today (Wednesday) at 1:00 o'clock, the Rev. Robert Foote officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established at St. Mark's church and the Oconto Historical Society.
