GEORGE E. DORAN TAKEN BY DEATH
Funeral Servies Saturday Morning
George E. Doran, who resided at 309 Jefferson St. for many years, died
Wednesday at the age of 80. Death occurred at St. Joseph's-Lloyd hospital
were he was admitted Friday. He had been ill for two years. For 35 years Mr.
Doran was office manager for Sawyer-Goodman Lumber Co. here and later was
associated with Marinette Marine Corp. for six years and Northwood Timber
Co. for seven years. He retired two years ago. A native of Oconto, where he
was born July 11, 1876, he move to Menominee with his parents as a child and
spent his early life there. On June 14, 1911, he was married to the former
Mae Boyle of Marinette and since that year had resided here. The couple was
married in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, where he was a member of the Holy
Name society. Mr. Doran was a charter member of Menominee Knights of
Columbus, the Catholic Order of Foresters and a life member of Marinette
Elks lodge, an organization he served as secretary for many years.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Paul and George, Jr. of Marinette and
Rodger of Homewood, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Komanecki of West Allis;
two brothers, Floyd J. of Menominee and Leo T. Doran of Hermansville, and a
sister, Mrs. Charles J. McCrory of Green Bay. There are 11 grandchildren.
The body is at McLain-Thielen-Langer funeral home where friends may call
from noon Friday until 8:30 a.m. Saturday. At 9 a.m. Saturday the Libera
will be sung in Our Lady of Lourdes church and burial will be in Forest Home
cemetery. The requiem mass will be said by the Rev. Leo J. Courtney."

FUNERALS
Doran - The Rev. Charles Frederick read a libra service today in Our Lady of
Lourdes church for George E. Doran, Marinette resident who died Wednesday.
Burial was in Forest Home cemetery. Pallbearers were (living),
Allen, Gordan, and Francis Doran and (living). A memorial mass will be said
at 8 a.m. Monday at Lourdes church."
