Gordon Classon Yields After Hard Fight Against Appendicitis

Gordon Classon, only son of Edmund Classon of the town of Oconto sucumed to appendicitis at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, after a brave fight of over four weeks against appendicitis. Five weeks ago he was brought from his home to the hospital, in very precarious condition. At first it was deemed not advisable to operate, but after a consulation of several doctors, they came to the conclusion that there was a bare chance for him through an operation, and it was performed. His struggle against big odds then began, but notwithstanding every aid, loving attention and care could furnish, the battle was lost when he breathed his last Sunday afternoon exactly eighteen months, to a day, after his mother had preceded him to the great beyond.

He was born in the town of Oconto July 14, 1901 and is survived by his father and two sisters, Mabel and Pearl.

There are few boys of his age who win so much love and respect from the community in which they live, as he had done through his kind, manly, refined and considerate character and disposition.

The funeral was held from the Couillardville church at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, Rev. C. A. Parker officiating, with interment in Evergreen cemetery.

The school in his home district was closed for the day and his sorrowing teacher and schoolmates attended in a body.
