George B. Bowman 85, Brookside native who had been staying at the home of his son Norman of Green Bay, died Tuesday evening in the Oconto hospital. He had been hospitalized since suffering a stroke 10 days earlier. Mr. Bowman was born at Brookside, October 22, 1877. He was a prominent Brookside farmer, spending his life on the farm where he was born, except for the past few winters when he stayed with his son. He had retuned to his farm each summer. His wife, the former Stella Powell of Abrams preceded him in death many years ago.

The body was brought to the John Crooks funeral home where friends may call from 2 o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon until the funeral hour. The Reverend Raymond Stege will conduct final rites Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the funeral home. Internment will be in Brookside cemetery.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Mary) Topel of Pensaukee and Mrs. Ruby Hanson of Lena; a son, Norman of Green Bay; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A son, Robert preceded him in death in 1953.
