Mrs. Wojner passed away at the local hospital on Friday forenoon, after having been a patient there since the previous Sunday. She had been in poor health for the past three years.
She was born in Poland on January 2, 1874 and was 75 years, five months and fifteen days old at the time of her death. The former Frances Tomaski came to America with her parents when she was a small child, and her marriage to Mr. Wojner took place at Mahoney, Penn., on May 10, 1896, the ceremony being read by the Rev. D. A. Browman. The couple celebrated their golden wedding in 1946.
Mr. and Mrs. Wojner lived in Mahoney for four years where Mr. Wojner was employed in the coal mines. They then moved to Northern Michigan where he was employed in the iron mines. They lived at Norway for sixteen years before coming to Oconto Falls thirty three years ago, where they have resided ever since. Mr. Wojner was in business here for fifteen years, retiring about eighteen years ago.
The Wojners are the parents of twelve children, nine of which survive their mother. Survivors include her husband, six sons and three daughters. The daughters are Anna, Mrs. Vane Couillard and Agnes, Mrs. John Bond, both of Oconto and Julia, Mrs. George Lawrie of Cambridge, Wis.; the sons are Michael and Paul of Oconto Falls, John of Norway, Stanley of Kenosha, and Edward and Walter of Milwaukee. There are thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and sister, Mrs. Stanley Kadtski.
