Oconto County Times Herald, April 7, 1999, Obituaries GREEN BAY -Florence Vaessen, 92, passed away March 31, 1999. She was born on Oct. 17, 1906, to the late Anton and Josephine (Tarkowski) Saharsky. Florence married Leo P. Vaessen on Nov. 9, 1929; he preceded her in death on April 4, 1998, Her home and family were her life.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard (Kathleen), Pound, Wis., Don, Green Bay, Roger (Maureen), Little Suamico; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dorothy (Donald) Josephs, Green Bay; Margaret Vaessen, Green Bay; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one due in April; her brother, Clement "Clem" (Gertrude) Saharsky; one sister-in-law, Lillian Saharsky.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Jean (Miller) Vaessen; three brothers, Frank, Walter and Benny Saharsky; five sisters, Gertrude Whipp, Mae Saharsky, Priscilla Conrad, Alice Holda and Helen Conrad.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, April 6 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Green Bay, with the Rev. James Feely officiating. Enbombment in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.

Proko-Wall Funeral Home, Green Bay, served the family.
