"Fritzi Schmidt, 91, 101 First St., Oconto, died November 27, 1995 at Riverside Nursing Home. She was born February 6, 1904 at Abrams to the late Robert and Elizabeth Schluenz. She married Raymond Schmid on October 1942. He preceded her in death March 2, 1974. Fritzi worked at Farnsworth Public Library for 57 years, many of those years as head librarian. She was honored by the Jaycees as a Outstanding Citizen in the mid 1970's. Fritzi was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Oconto County Historical Society and Oconto Women's club.
"Survivors include a nephew Robert (Peggy) Pigeon, Ariz.; special friends John and Carol Wittkoph, Oconto and the family of the late Earl Rasmussen.
"She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Isle. "Friends may call at the First Presbyterian Church, Oconto from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 1995, at the Church with Rev. Kevin Tarvid officiating and burial at Evergreen Cemetery. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto is assisting the family.
