Faye (Mrs. Harlan) Metzler, 79, 319 S. Main St., Oconto Falls, died April, 16, 2000, Palm Sunday, at home surrounded by family and friends.

Faye was born to Wesley and Edna (Hansen) Scutt on May 20, 1920. She graduated from Gillett High School with the class of 1938 and beauty college in Green Bay. On March 11, 1941, she married Harlan Metzler at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and River Island Golf Club. Throughout her life, Fay had many joys, family times, golfing, playing bridge, knitting, sewing, crafts and traveling. She will always be lovingly remembered by her family for her great Sunday dinners of baked chicken and fresh apple pie. Faye always had an open door for her friends and neighbors to visit.

Survivors are her husband of 59 years, Harlan; their four children, Carole (Gary) Van Zeeland, Kaukauna; Karen (Dave) DePagter, Tampa, FL; Tom Metzler, Green Bay; Cathy (Kurt) Van Someren, McFarland; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Marian Fredrick; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Alice Metzler, Millie Metzler all of Oconto Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sons, John and James, as well as many bridge and golf partners.

The family will receive relatives and friends with her urn present after 6 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Oconto Falls until the time of services. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Fr. Harold Beerntsen and Patricia DeGroot, parish director officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Jones Funeral Service, Oconto Falls is serving the Metzler family.
