Fawn Renee (Stout) Shafman, 57, Oconto, passed away
Monday, March 07, 2016 with her loving family by her
side, after a nearly five year battle with stage 4
breast
cancer. She was born on March 3, 1959, in
Bermuda at Kindley Air Force Base to Gary and Connie
(Melbye) Stout.
Fawn graduated from Wisconsin Rapids High School,
Class of 1977. She continued her education at
Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids and
graduated in 1979 with an Associate Degree as a
Dietetic Technician. After graduation, Fawn obtained
an internship at University Hospital of Madison. She
met her husband, James Shafman in August of 1979, in
Wisconsin Rapids and they were married on December
29, 1984. Fawn worked for Bellin Health Bond
Community Center in Oconto for over 10 years, until
her health no longer allowed her to. It was here she
formed many lasting friendships. Fawn enjoyed
visiting flower gardens, and took great pride in her
own flower garden. She could frequently be found
working tirelessly to maintain it's beauty, and
received numerous recognitions. Fawn enjoyed
traveling cross country with her husband, Jim, and
taking mini-vacations at hotels with her family. Her
children and grandchildren were the light of her
life.
Fawn is survived by her husband of 31 years, James
Shafman; daughter and son-in-law, Emilie and Mike
Duffy, Oconto; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and
Laurie Shafman, Green Bay; two step-sons, Aaron
(Nicole) Shafman, Green Bay; and Shaun Kinney,
Presque Isle, Maine; eight grandchildren, Justin,
Devin, Madison, Dominic, Cadence, Kyla, Nolan, and
Reed. She is further survived by her parents, Gary
and Connie Stout; two brothers and a sister-in-law,
Doug and Kathy Stout, and Robin Stout, all of
Wisconsin Rapids; many brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal
and maternal grandparents; her father-in-law, David
Shafman, and a grandson, Darien.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the
First Presbyterian Church, Oconto, from 10 AM to 12
Noon, Saturday, March 12, 2016. Memorial services
will conducted 12 Noon Saturday at the church with
the Rev. Craig Alwin officiating. Online condolences

Fawn's family extends a special thank you to Dr.
Lynch and Dr. Mortara and the staffs of the Bellin
Cancer Team, and Bellin Oconto Medical Center. They
also express their sincere gratitude to Unity
Hospice and the staff of Unity Residence for their
care and compassion.
