HEART FAILURE IS FATAL FRIDAY TO FRANK RHODE, 73

Funeral services for Frank Rhode, 73, who was found dead in his, barn last Friday afternoon (April 10, 1931) were held Monday afternoon from the residence on Park avenue, with the Rev. Starr H. Lloyd officiating and interment was made in the Evergreen cemetery.

The pallbearers were John Merline, Sr., John VanGaal, Jake Scherer, Joseph Jacquardt, William Bitters and Herb Colson.

Mr. Rhode, who was a pioneer resident of this city, had been gone from home for several days. Returning about five o'clock Friday afternoon, he is said to have bade his wife "Good-bye" and gone out to the barn at 5:10 p. m. He was discovered lying dead in the barn about 5:30.

Because of uncertainity as to the cause of death, Coroner Clyde M Davis was called and after an investigation announced no inquest would be held. Death was given as being due to acute dilation ol the heart.

He was born in St. Paul, Minn., Feb. 11, 1858, and was taken here (city of Oconto) at the age of two, where he had since resided. He had been engaged in part time truck farming for many years.

Mr. Rhode is surviveded by his wife, Mrs. Ida Rhode, 71; Mrs Jessie Belland, Miss Cora Rhodfe and Mrs. , Margaret Tourtillotte, Oconto; and ten sons, Ernest Frank, Walter, Robert, Harry, Ransom, Ralph and Alfred, all of Oconto, Willard, Ontonagon, Mich. and George, Stambaugh, Mich. There were also two sisters, Mrs. Christine Thiele , Oconto and Mrs. Mary Stitz of Portland, Oregon.
