Succumed to Attack of Paralysis After Ten Days Resistance
Engaged in Business in Oconto Falls for Thirty-five Years

Franklin Pierce Elliott passed away Tuesday morning at a hospital in Green Bay. For more than a month, Mr. Elliott complained of pains in his abdomen and about ten days before his death, he went to Green Bay to consult a specialist. That night he stopped at the home of his niece, Mrs. Carlson and a little after midnight the lower part of his body became paralyzed.

Franklin Pierce Elliott was born in the town of Ceres, McKean county, Penn., June 12, 1863. When less than a year old deceased moved with his parents to Oshkosh, Wis., where they resided for four years. They moved to Big Suamico in 1868 and six years later the family moved to the town of Chase, where the deceased lived until 1886, when he came to Oconto Falls and embarked in the fire insurance business which he conducted successfully up to the time of his death. He soon opened a small store for the sale of confectionery, cigars, etc., and gradually developed into the grocery business but continued the fancy goods and confectionery branch.

In 1892, Mr. Elliott was married to Miss Nettie F. Bentley, of Durand, Mich. To this union, four children where born: Herschel, Lloyd, Norman, and Evelyn, but of those, only two - Norman and Evelyn - survive. In addition to the children the deceased is survived by his wife and one brother, D. C. Elliott of this city.

The remains arrived here Wednesday evening and the funeral occurred yesterday afternoon, with services at the Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. E.J. Matthews. Six members of the Modern Woodmen, of which the deceased was a member for a number of years, were pallbearers and burial was in Woodlawn cemetery.

Deceased was the eldest insurance agent in Oconto county in point 35 years devoted to that line of business and his agency carried policies in almost every part of Oconto county.

With the death of Frank Elliott there passes from our midst a man of unquestioned honest and integrity, an affectionate husband and father and a good citizen in every respect. To the surviving family the deep sympathy of the community is extended.
