Frieda LaBrosse, 82, Oconto Falls, died Sunday morning, Jan.
4, 2004, at a Green Bay hospital. She was born Dec. 2, 1921 in Oconto Falls,
to Emil and Ernestine (Muth) Schindel. On Oct. 12, 1940, she married Anthony
LaBrosse in Oconto Falls. Frieda lived in the Town of Oconto Falls for
all of her life where she farmed and once worked for the Scott Paper Co.
She also worked in glove and shoe factories in Pulaski, Oconto and Gillett
before being employed for 18 years at Mid Central Tool & Die Co. in
Oconto Falls until retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic
Church. Frieda enjoyed caring for her large vegetable and flower gardens,
reading all kinds of books and shopping at rummage sales.
Survivors include her children, Richard LaBrosse, Oconto Falls; Jeannette
Kocken, Amberg; Anthony C. (Veronica) LaBrosse and Gary (fiance, Sue) LaBrosse,
all of Oconto Falls; her former husband, Anthony A. LaBrosse, Oconto Falls;
five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one brother, Adolph (Maribel)
Schindel, Oconto Falls; two sisters, Anna Wirtz, Oconto Falls; Lillian
(Leo) Schwittay, Marinette; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Frederick,
Otto and Gust Schindel; two sisters, Olga Mayer and Martha Falash; one
half-brother, William Raatz; and one grandchild, Jamie Kocken.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Service (920-848-2222) in Oconto
Falls after 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, until the time of services.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with
the Rev. Fr. Harold Beerntsen officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery,
Oconto Falls.
