Mr. Richard J. "Dick" O'Connor, 67, 4084 Pensaukee Bayshore Road, Oconto died unexpectedly Friday afternoon, July 23, 1999 at home.

Dick was born January 6, 1932 in Oconto the son of the late William S. and Antoinette (Picard) O'Connor. On January 9, 1958 Dick was united in marriage to the former Janet Frease in Oconto. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict for three years. He was employed at Triangle Distributing for 38 years.

Richard will be sadly missed by his loving wife Janet; by three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Carla O'Connor, Little Suamico, Mark and Sandy O'Connor and Peter and Kathi O'Connor, Oconto; by three daughters and sons-in- law, Diane and Joe Daul, Greenville, Laurie and Joe Hanna, Oconto and Patty and John Hirshfield, Little Suamico; by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Betty O'Connor, Kansas City, MO and Tom and Patricia O'Connor, West Allis; by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Patricia and Jerry Fels, Summerfield, FL and Agnes Dickey, Manitowoc; by 15 grandchildren, four step grand-children, and one step-great grandson. Richard was close to his brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, including, Ronald and Audrey Frease, Sue and Dick Pillsbury and Terry and Cindy Frease all of Oconto; Betty and Dick Lemke, Madison, Linda and Duwayne Herning, Wausau; Jim and Jean Frease, Little Suamico; and Dave and Jean Frease, Marinette. Dick is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Francis Marlow.

A private family service of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 26, 1999 at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Oconto. The Rev. Richard DeBenedetto officiated. Interment at Brookside Cemetery.

The Jones-Modrow-Young American Legion Post conducted military rites.

The family would like to thank the Oconto to Fire Department Ambulance and St. Mary's Hospital for their assistance.
