A Pioneer Called
Flora Campbell was born in Dalhouise, province of New Brunswick, Jan. 30, 1837, and at the time of her death had reached the age of 85 years, 2 months and 6 days.
She came to Oconto at the age of 30 years, lived there until her marriage to Joseph McMahon, April 5, 1876, when they moved to Maple Valley where she resided until her death.
She is survived by two sons, Albert and Allen, both of Maple Valley, and one sister, Mary, of Oconto; and one brother, John, of New Brunswick, also eight grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1915.
The funeral was held Wednesday at two o'clock at the Christian church, Rev. Bailey officiating, with internment in the Hickory cemetery.
The pallbearers were: Jas. Stensen, Josh Cheffngs, Thos. Trecartin, Thos. Smith, W. C. Mills and Chris Bogstead.
The relatives from out of town to attend the funeral were: Wm., and Robert Campbell and Herb McMillen of Oconto Falls, nephews of the deceased; Wm.
McMahon of Weyauwega, Mr. And Mrs. Sam McMahon and Mrs. Joe McMahon and son, Clayton of Peshtigo Brook.
