Frank A. Blachowiak, 91, of 8318 W. County Trunk P, Beaver, died Saturday July 3, 1999 at Woodland Village Nursing Home in Suring.

The son of the late Albert and Margaret (Szczerbiak) Blachowiak was born November 17, 1907 in, Chicago, IL. He was married to Stella M. Majeski on February 5, 1940 at the former St. Leo's Catholic Church, Pound. He owned and operated the Red Owl Store in Beaver and also worked as postal clerk at Beaver. From 1961-1966 he owned and operated a grocery store in Manawa. Frank was a 4th Degree member of the Marinette Knights of Columbus and a 3rd Degree member of the Coleman council. He was a past secretary for the Coleman-Pound Lions Club and actively participated in many charity and fund raising events. He was a lifelong member of the former St. Leo's Catholic Church, Pound and the present Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman.

Surviving are his wife, Stella; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Margaret of Sussex, WI; Donald of Beaver and Elmer and Katie of Hubertus, WI; four grandchildren, Ami and Beth Blachowiak, Shawn (Dee) and Trevor Barrett; one son-in-law, Kevin Barrett of Sussex and one sister, Bernice Vanish of Crivitz.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorothy Barrett and seven brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday with K of C vigil service at 7 p.m. and a parish wake service at 8 p.m. There will be visitation 9:30- 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman with Rev. John Hephner officiating.
