Jeranek, Elmer W.
Elmer W. Jeranek, 98, of La Crosse passed away Saturday,
February 13, 2016 at Lakeview Healthcare Center in West
Salem. He was born in Lakewood, Wisconsin on July 27,
1917 to Rudolph and Mary (Holt) Jeranek. On October 12,
1940 he married Dorothy Kilman. They had three sons. She
preceded him in death in 2007.
Elmer is survived by two sons, James (Bonnie) and Ronald
Jeranek, and daughter-in-law, Dianne Jeranek,10
grandchildren: Torry (Deb), Paul (Sara), Perry, Meredith
(Howie) McCann, Craig (Megan), Wade (Erin), Tyler , Chad
(Julie Krause), Mark (Kim) and Jayme (Tim) Miller, 12
great grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren. He is
also survived one brother, Barney.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one
son, Roger in 2009, his parents, one sister, Evelyn
Wolfe, and 3 brothers, Earl, Carl, Ray, and their
spouses.
Elmer worked for
General
Motors, the Town of Lakewood, and retired
from the U.S. Forest Service. He loved hunting and
fishing (especially trout) and horseshoes. He will be
lovingly missed.
The Dickinson Family Funeral Home & Crematory is
assisting the family with arrangements.
Per Elmer's wish, there will be no service. The family
will hold a memorial gathering at a later date.
