Edwin WINKLER, Sr., Gillett, died Monday, June 21, 1999 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.
He was born Feb. 3, 1917 in Gillett, to the late Otto and Clara (SCHOENEBECK) WINKLER. Edwin grew up and spent most of his life in Gillett. On Dec. 31, 1938, he married Mildred CHRISTENSEN in Suring. He was a lifelong member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Gillett. He enjoyed his garden and fishing, but most of all, his family.
Edwin was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and brother to the following survivors: his wife, Mildred, of Gillett; his children, Dorothy (Hoyt) BLANCHARD of Dalton, GA, Shirley (Mike) LUSK of Clairmont, FL, Helen (John) SMITH of Greendale, Edwin, Jr. (Joyce) of Gillett, Robert (Barbara) of Oshkosh, Gene (Ellen) of Krakow, Randy of DePere, Ricky (Sandy) of Milwaukee, Judy WINKLER and her special friend, Don WAGNER of Gillett; Bonnie (Ken) JUZA of Little Suamico; Debbie WINKLER of Schofield; his sister and brothers Eleanor WINKLER, Arthur (Florence), and Louis, all of Gillett; many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Edwin was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann WINKLER SELL, on Jan. 18, 1986.
Visitation was held at the Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett, Thursday, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and then at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Gillett, Friday after 10:30 a.m. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 25, at the church with the Rev. Dennis N. Nelson officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.
