The daughter of the late Ernest and Lulu (Cleveland) Wahl was born Aug. 7, 1916 in Sampson in Oconto County. She was a 1934 graduate of Oconto Falls High School and was married to Gust Charnesky on Aug. 30, 1939 in Oconto Falls. The couple resided in Coleman and owned and operated the Charnesky Chevrolet Garage there until retirement in 1973. Her husband preceded her in death in 1976. Edith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pound.
Survivors include one son, James (Sarah) Charnesky of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Linda (Allen) Mursau of Sheboygan and Mary Lou (Tim) Gremmer of Stevens Point, and seven grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Erwin Wahl in 1953.
Visitation was held at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home in Coleman from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Monday with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. There was visitation at the First Baptist Church in Pound from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, with the Rev. James Frisby officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
