For the past nine months Mr. Behling had been instrumental in the organization and building of the Oconto Falls Golf Course, devoting his time and serving as work director. He was the first president of the Oconto Falls Hospital board; a member of Oconto Falls Lodge 293, F & A.M.; past master of Victory Lodge 320 of Cedarburg; past high priest of Royal Arch Masons of Port Washington, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Lodge 182, Oconto Falls; Royal Arch Masons Lodge 77, Oconto; Scottish Rites, Green Bay; Tripoli Temple, Milwaukee; and the Oconto County Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ellsworth, and Eugene, Oconto Falls; six brothers, Otto, Port Washington; Fred, Milwaukee; John, Phillips; Albert, Vesper; Arthur, Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. William White, Larkspur, Calif.; Mrs. Anna Hitzig, Port Washington, and three grandchildren.
Friends may call after 1 pm Friday at Soulek Funeral Home, Oconto Falls where funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday with the Revs. Cecil Dawson and R.L. Greene officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery with graveside Masonic rites. A memorial fund to the Oconto Falls Golf Course has been established.
