While her health had been poor some years past, it was with shock and surprise that the community learned of the death of Mrs. Alexander Patterson at the city hospital on Tuesday morning. She had been taken to the hospital Monday evening and death came to her peacefully the next morning, the cause being a complication of diseases.

Elizabeth Stewart was born in Johns, N.B. Canada and came to this community forty years ago. Her marriage to Mr. Patterson took place in 1894 in Oconto Falls.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Grace Patterson of Chicago, and two sons, Guy and Howard of Oconto Falls; three step-daughters, Mrs. Peter Laduron, Stratford, Mrs. Charles Jackson of Kansas and Miss Len Patterson of Oregon. A sister, Mrs. James Hoar of this city also survives her. Mrs.

Patterson was a charter member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge which organization will conduct its burial ritual at the graveside Friday. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, as she was a war mother, a son Gordon having died from effects of his experiences in the A. E. F.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church, of which the deceased was a faithful member. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Burial will take place in Woodlawn cemetery.
