Evelyn R. Nemec, 84, of Oconto Falls, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Sharpe Care, Ltd., in Oconto Falls. The daughter of the late Gilbert and Lillian (Beaber) Smith was born March 20, 1918, at Pound.
She was married to Walter Lentz; who preceded her in death. She then was married to Louis M. Nemec. Evelyn lived in Milwaukee, where she owned two clothing stores. She also lived in Florida, Indianapolis, Ind., and then Oconto Falls. In her earlier years, she lived in the White Potato Lake area for several years. Evelyn was also an antique dealer for many years.
Evelyn is survived by one daughter, Gloria (Lentz) O'Shell of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight sisters: Charlene Diehl of Virginia, Lorraine Boyce of North Carolina, Ruby Schulthies of California, Marge Southern of Tennessee, Verla Haman of Wauwatosa, Wis., Alvina Rost of Coleman, Dorothy Magray of Michigan, and Shirley Myers of Indiana; three brothers: Vernon Smith and Arnold Smith, both of Pound and Alan (Judy) Smith of North Dakota; a favorite niece, Nancy Rost of Coleman; and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Wendell.
Friends may call at RHODES-CHARAPATA FUNERAL HOME, Coleman, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2002, and after 12 noon on Tuesday, March 26, 2002, until time of services. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald Hoffman officiating.
Interment will be in First Baptist Cemetery, Pound.
