On December 2, 1933, Elsie married Arnold F. Montie in Gillett she was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Zachow, the ladies aide and was a Sunday School teacher. She was a Shawano County 4-H leader for 35 years.
Elsie is survived by her husband, of 67 years, Arnold F. Montie, Marenisco; her children and their spouses; Shirley,and Robert Haws, Beverly and Vernon Rolfs all of Eagle River; Roland and JoAnn Montie, Marenisco; Lynette "Lynn" and Joe Elliot, Green Bay A daughter-in-law; Charoltet Montie, Crestview Fla; 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; one brother, Harvey Schmidt, Kenosha, one sister: Edna O'Brien, Gillett; two sisters-in-law Gloria Schmidt, Gillett; Laura Schmidt, Sheboygan; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Arnold Fred Montie, Jr.; one grandson Brian; one great grandson, Jason; and five brothers.
The funeral was, held Monday, January 29 at the Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett, with the Rev. Philip Geiger of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Zachow, officiating. Interment in Wanderers Rest Cemetery, Gillett.
A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.
