She was born August 8, 1919, in Mechanicville, NY, to John and Cathryn (Cavenaugh) Reilly. She grew up in New York, where she graduated from high school. As a young woman, she met her husband "Hunter" Rumpf in Mechanicville, NY. Eleanor lived all of her married life in Oconto Falls and worked as the bookkeeper for the family construction business. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. Eleanor also was an avid bridge player and a former member of River Island Golf Club. "Grandma Juke" as she was lovingly known by her family, enjoyed playing cards and just spending time with her four grandchildren.
Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Ron Leja, Abrams; her four grandchildren Ryan, Renee, Rory and Riley Leja; three sisters Monica Reilly, Mechanicville, NY; Madeline Norton, Saratoga Springs, NY; Sally Herrick, Stillwater, NY; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hunter on December 22, 1995; two brothers John and Frank Reilly; and one sister, Loretta Knapp.
Friends called at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls, after 9 a.m. Thursday until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
