Emil (Pete) Gondek, age 68, passed away quietly Thurs. evening, March 10, 1988 at Knoxville Convalescent Home following a lingering illness.

He was born May 11,1919 in Stiles, Wi. to the late John and Eva (Makjewski) Gondek. Emil, who had lived in Kaukauna for over 40 years, resided the last four years in Knoxville., Tn.

Emil was employed as a truck driver for C. W. Transport until his retirement in 1976. He was formerly employed by Chicago North Western railway in the 50's.

He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Knoxville. He was an army veteran of W.W. II having served in England and Germany from 1943-46.

Survivors include his wife, the former Dorothy Griffin, Knoxville, whom he married Sept. 5, 1985. Four sons and two daughters-in-law, Greg and Karen of Green Bay, Mike and Leslee of Boston, Mass., Robb of Princeton, N.J., Kevin of Kaukauna; one daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Mike Secor, also of Kaukauna; one step son, Robert of Knoxville, and one step daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Xen of Portwood, Tn. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and two step grandchildren. Christine, Jolene and Shawn of Green Bay. Megan and Adam of Kaukauna; Brice and .Chase of Portwood, Tn.

He is also survived by two brothers, John (Cathryn), Los Angeles, Ca., and Lloyd of Woodstock, II.; six sisters, Delia, Chicago, II., Regina (Leonard) Allard, Marian (Bill) Van Der. Putten, both of Green Bay, Eleanor (Len) Hargarten, Cicero, Ill., Evelyn and Eileen, both of , Houston, Tx., and two sisters-in-law, Genevieve of Northlake, II., and Catherine of Stiles, Wi.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Louis, Henry, Edward, and an infant twin brother; also one brother-in-law Steve.

Memorial services are being held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Stiles, Wi. Fr. Mike Donovan will officiate. Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Friends and relatives will be received following the services at St. Patrick Hall.
