Etta Peterson, 95, Oconto Falls, died Monday morning, February 28, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospice, Milwaukee.
She was born May 4, 1904, in the Town of Morgan, to the late Frank and Inga Marie (Olson) McEwing. On August 5, 1922, Etta married Marcus Peterson in Gillett. Together, the couple farmed in the Town of Green Valley. Mr. Peterson preceded her in death July 10, 1968. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church town of Green Valley. Etta enjoyed knitting and making quilts for her church. She made her last quilt at the age of 93.
Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Tony Valenza, West Allis; Loretta and Eugene Barrette, Milwaukee; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Etta was also preceded in death by her son; Norris; two brothers and three sisters.
Friends called at Bethel Lutheran Church, Town of Green Valley, Friday after 9 a.m. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Friday March 3, 2000, at the church with the Rev. Larry Lange officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett, assisted Etta's family with arrangements.
