Mrs. Eda M. Eckberg, 91, 101 First Street, Oconto went to her eternal rest Wednesday afternoon August 25, 1999 at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center, Oconto. The former Eda Wagner was born April 15, 1908 at Bagley, Michigan, the daughter of the late henry and Mary (Bailet) Wagner. Eda was a graduate of Carney-Nadeau High School. Following secretarial training, Eda worked for the State Bank of Ewen, Michigan. On September 22, 1930 she was united in marriage to Oscar Eckberg at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Nadeau, Michigan. Following their marriage the couple moved to Oconto where Eda was employed as a secretary by the Holt Hardwood and then by Holt Instrument Lab until retirement in 1974. Oscar preceded her in death on October 30, 1961. Eda was an active member of the former St. Joseph Parish, Oconto and is currently a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, bonnie and James LaViolette, Oconto; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Pat Eckberg and Richard and Helen Eckberg, all of Green Bay; a brother Otto Wagner, Black Creek; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Eda was further preceded in death by an infant daughter Marilyn; an infant son, Peter; three sisters, Emma, Louise, and Lena; and by one daughter-in-law, Karen Eckberg. The family received relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Peter Site, Oconto Friday, August 27, 1999. Mass of Resurrection Friday at the Church. the Rev. Fr.
