Ethel Rupert CONNAHER


    Ethel Marie Connaher, 82, Suring, formally of Antigo, died at Suring
Woodlawn Village, September 9, 1999. Ethel was born Nov. 6, 1916 to
George and Lyda (Mervin) Rupert. She married Kenneth (Bud) Connaher on
June 12, 1937 in Marinette. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1986.
    She was a graduate from Marinette High School. She worked with her
husband at Liberty loan offices in Wausau and Houghton, MI. She
volunteered as Cub Scout and Brownie Den mother in the 1950s and
1960s. She worked as a seamstress at home for 30 years, was a member
of St. Ambose Episcopal Church, Antigo, where she served as treasurer
for 25 years. She served as a helper and vice president of resident
council at Suring Woodlawn Villiage.
    Survivors include one daughter
Kathleen (Terence) Rank of Lakewood; one son, Gary (Pam) Connaher of
Wausau; three brothers, George Rupert Jr., Mervin (Jean) Rupert, Ken
(Mary) Rupert, all of Marinette; four grandchildren, Justin and Deavon
Connaher and Erin and Kittrick Rank. Besides her husband, she was
preceded in death by one grandson, Ryan Rank; one brother, Ed Rupert,
and one sister, Betty Schuchart. Visitation was held at Bradley
Funneral Home in Antigo, Monday, Sept. 20, 1999 from 9-10:30 a.m.
Fueral service was held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church,
Antigo, with Fr. Harlan Bemis officiating. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery,
Antigo.
