Harold Elfe, age 99, Suring entered into eternal rest at Birch Hill Care
Center in Shawano on April 16, 2012. Harold was born November 16, 2012
to the late August and Hertha (Ruch) Elfe. Harold married Evelyn
Schuettpelz on June 20, 1936 in the Town of How. The couple lived in
Suring and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2006. Harold is
a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Suring.
Harold is survived by his daughter, Marlene Hedtke of New London; his
son, Don (Jan) Elfe of Horton, MI; his sister, Corinne (Carl) Larsen of
Weyauwega; 6 grandchildren, Brian (Colleen) Hedtke, Alan (Theresa)
Hedtke, Kristen (Jeremy) Wiberg, Roy III (Corinne) Whaley, Stephanie
(Cameron) Schack and Michael Elfe; 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great
grandchildren. Harold is also survived by many nieces, nephews, a
special sister in law Elsie Radl, other relatives and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn in 2006; his daughter,
Lola Whaley in 2003; his granddaughter, Lori Van Alstine in 2011; his
brother, Ervin in 2006.
Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home on Friday, April
20, 2012 from 4-8 PM. Visitation continues on Saturday at Mount Olive
Lutheran Church in Suring from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM
with Pastor Michael Paholke officiating. Harold will be laid to rest
next to his wife in Mount Olive Lutheran Cemetery. Online condolences
