Evelyn Edna Demmith, 82, of Pound, died Monday July 10, 2000 at Unity Hospice at Whispering Oaks Center in Peshtigo. The daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Lusnia was born February 25, 1918 in Lena. She was married to Alfred Demmith on February 9, 1937 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spruce. Evelyn was a member of Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman.

Surviving are four sons, Alfred (Rose), Green Bay; David (Nancy), Pound; James (Mary), Pound; and Russell (Michele), Coleman; four daughters, Donna (Claude) Rowley, Fort Myers, FL; Karen (Robert) Payette, Coleman; Lynn (Elroy) Miller, Marinette; and Judy Deback, Crivitz; two daughters-in-law, Arlene Demmith and Carol Burzlaff of Marinette; 31 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Verna (Ben) Wiora, Indiana and Adelle Janda, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; parents, Joseph and Anna Lusnia; three sons, DuWayne, Roger and Jeffery; son-in-law, Henry Deback; one daughter, LaVerne; two granddaughters; one great-grandson.

Friends called at Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman from 4 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2000 until the time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the church with Rev. John Hephner officiating. Interment in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Coleman.

A memorial fund has been established in her memory.
