Edward Koop, 78, of 4204 Arthur Ave., Brookfield, Illinois, former Gillett businessman, died Wednesday at Brookfield. Mr. Koop had operated the Koop Hardware at Gillett since 1918. Five years ago he went to make his home with his daughter in Illinois.
Mr. Koop was born Oct. 17, 1889 in Melrose Park, Illinois. He was married to Louisa Schmitz on May 12, 1912. She died June 30, 1966. He was a former member of St. John Catholic Church of Gillett and a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus.
Survivors are his daughter, Marjorie, Mrs. Albert Andrulis of Brookfield, Ill., and one son, Eugene Koop of De Pere. Other survivors are 8 grandchildren, one brother, Walter Koop of Maywood, Ill. and one sister Mrs. Bertha Draves of Lombard, Ill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. John Catholic Church, Gillett. The Rev. Michael Bablitch will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett, after five o'clock this evening. The Rosary will be said at 8:00 at the funeral home tonight.
