ELDRED KLAUSER DIED ON FRIDAY

Oconto—Eldred Klauser, 70, of Stiles, died early Friday at Oconto hospital. He had been in ill health for five or six years.

Mr. Klauser, who had a great interest in forest conservation and was active in that field in Oconto and other northern Wisconsin counties, was a grandson of the late Anson Eldred, early Wisconsin lumberman, who founded the Anson Eldred lumber company and sawmill at Stiles in 1869.

He was born March 21, 1888, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Klauser of Milwaukee. Mr. Klauser, who was a graduate of Williams college, traveled extensively during his lifetime, both in Europe and the United States. He also maintained a keen interest in yachting and during his lifetime owned several boats.

From 1936 to 1948 he acted as advisor to Oconto county on finances. For many years he also represented the county on the Oconto County and City Hospital board.

Mr. Klauser, who was a bachelor, is survived by a brother, Karl, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
