He was born December 12, 1919 in Milwaukee to the late Robert and Nellie Batterton Rickaby. Emmett served in the Army during WWII. He married Angela Cox July 16, 1983. During his school days Emmett was a champion diver and pole vaulter at East High School in Green Bay. He was a past President of the Green Bay Shrine Club and a 32 degree Mason. Emmett had retired as a police officer, being employed by the City of Gillett for years.
Survivors include his wife Angela of Gillett; his daughter, Laura Lamers of Gillett and her children Sara and Emily; his son, David Kim Runge of Seymour and their daughter Savannah; mother-in-law, Evelyn Cox of Gillett; sister-in-law, Carol Cox of Abrams; two brothers-in-law, Richard E. Cox and Carl Bayer both of Green Bay. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by a sister, Betty; father-in-law, Richard R. Cox; brother-in-law, Lavern Cox, sister-in-law, Andrew Bayer.
Extended family to include two daughters and their families: Terrie Gershman of Santa Rosa, California, Lynn Ramsford of LaCrescenta, California.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, February 10, at the Tabor United Methodist Church in Gillett beginning at 10 a.m. until memorial service 12 noon with Pastor H.C. Skip Robertson officiating. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring in charge of arrangements.
