Edward "Eddie" J. Mercier, 97, 969 Howard St., died Tuesday, March 1, 1994 at a local hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1897 in Nahma, Mich., one of 14 children of Francis Xavier and Mary Louise (Juneau) Mercier. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and was a member of the Veterans of World War I Barracks 1199 Wisconsin. On Oct. 15, 1921 Edward married Mildred "Sis" Topel. She preceded him in death Nov. l I, 1990. He was employed by Northwest Engineering for 27 years, retiring in 1963. He was a member of the Masonic Order. Theodore Roosevelt Lodge 322 F.&A.M. and belonged to the Low-Twelve Club. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 401 since 1937 and was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame.

Survivors include two sons and three daughters-in-law, Ellis and Audrey Mercier, Oconto Falls; Donald and Kay Mercier. Green Bay; Mrs. Eugene (Marcella "Sally") Mercier, Green Bay; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law. William and Laura Mercier Sr., St. Jaques, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Lou (Lillian) Geelan, Calgary, Canada; two sister-in-law, Mrs. Alan (Rose) Mercier, Nahma. Mich.; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred; one son Eugene; two infant daughters, Bonnie and Darla; seven brothers; four sisters.

Friends may call at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 S. Broadway, from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday. Funeral 4 p.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. William O. Lawson officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery. .

Note: Wife Mildred Viola "Sis" TOPEL was born in Oconto County, Wisconsin on 23 Sept 1898.  Baptized Sept. 23,1898 as Mildred Krischefski.  Sponsors were, Mrs. Annie Livermore, Mrs. Lettie Krischefski and Albert Krischefski. Mildred died 1990 at 91 years of age. Both buried Brookside Cemetery. They have 3 children buried in the same grave site. She married Edward J. MERCIER on 15 Oct. l921, in Escanaba, Michigan.  Edward was born 02 Feb. 1897. Edward was the son of Frank MERCIER and Mary Louise JUNEAU. Edward died 01 Mar. 1994 in Green Bay, WI., at 97 years of age.
