Mrs. Ethel E. Kushava, 83 Lena, was received into the Lord's presence early Sunday morning at Sharpe Care LTD, Oconto falls, with her family at her side

She was born to the late George and Odeal (Ausloos) Jenquine March 31, 1916 in Lena. The former Ethel Jenquine married Henry Kushava November 18, 1936 at the former St. Charles Catholic Church, Lena. The first seven years of their married life the couple worked in Green Bay. They then moved to a farm in New Franken for five years until they purchased the home farm on Jagiello Road, Lena, in 1948. They retired from farming in 1968. Henry preceded Ethel in death July 20, 1994. Ethel was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Community, Lena, and the Lena Golden Age Club. Ethel enjoyed her family, traveling, playing cards, reading, watching deer with her husband, and recently watching soap operas. She also enjoyed collecting various bird ornaments.

Survivors include one daughter, Doris (James) Grider of Pensacola, FL; three sons, Donald (Diane) of Milwaukee, Darrell (Shirley) of Lena, and James (Carol) of Oconto; nine grandchildren, Patrick and Daniel Gridder of Auburn, AL, Robert and Tim Kushava of Milwaukee. Kris Kushava of DePere, Jennifer (Richard) Shallow of Green Bay, Tina Kushava of Lena, Brian and Mitchell Kushava of Oconto; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Laverne (Donald) Skarda of Green Bay; two brothers, Harold (Esther) Jenquine of Lena and Earl Jenquine of Largo, FL; and two sisters-in-law, Elsie Jenquine of Green Bay and Phyllis (James) Rothlesberger of Coleman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, James Grider, and two brothers, Marvin Jenquine and Robert Jenquine.

Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena, Wednesday (today), June 23, from 4:00-9400 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Vigil Service Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lena, with Father Harold Beerntsen officiating. Interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Lena.
