Elmer J. Cochenet, 92, Lena died Monday, February 5, 2001 at Sharpe Care Ltd., Oconto Falls.

He was born to the late Maurice and Margaret (Courtion) Cochenet April 4, 1908. Elmer married the former Anna Schwiner June 19, 1935 at the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spruce. The couple farmed in the towns of Spruce, Hickory, and Lena until moving to Green Bay where Elmer worked for Howard Blazer Lumber and later at Green Bay Planing Company until his retirement. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing at his trailer at Lee Lake. He also enjoyed playing cards.

Surviving are his wife, Anna; one daughter, Gladys (Loddie) Koutsky, Pound; three grandchildren, Sharon (Norman) Meyer, Milton; Jerry (Diana) Koutsky, Palmira; James (Mary) Koutsky, Lake Geneva; eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; one niece, and two nephews.

Elmer was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Cochenet, and two sisters, Agnes Cochenet and Marie Pawlak. Relatives and friends called at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena, Thursday, February 8 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at the funeral home with Father Frank Schrage officiating. Placed to rest in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Lena.
