Eleanor was born in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, on February 13, 1918, the daughter of Alfred and Marie Klespe Heinritz. She grew up in Milwaukee and lived there most of her life. After the death of her husband, David Charles, in 1974, she moved to Townsend in 1977. She was an active member of Saint John Lutheran Church in Townsend, and enjoyed cooking, berry picking, and swimming in Bass Lake. Most of all, however, Eleanor enjoyed being with friends and family. She loved working with kids, dancing, and traveling with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Eleanor is survived by her three daughters Sharon Robert Wolterstorff of Townsend, WI; Mary Plaumann of Milwaukee, WI; Ellie Robert Bauerle of Pennsylvania; one son, Paul Pat Pfersch of Milwaukee, WI; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Charles; and her loving friend, Stanley Fosdick.
Pastor Gary Bratz led the funeral services on Saturday, January 20, 2001, at Saint John Lutheran Church in Townsend at 11 a.m. Friends called upon the family at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Milwaukee. Memorials to the family appreciated. Suminski Funeral Home of Wabeno was given the privilege of serving the family.
