Funeral Rites Monday
For Ernest G. Meier
Funeral services for Ernest George Meier, of the Town of Stiles, who died suddenly on Friday, January 27th
following a paralytic stroke, were conducted by the Rev. Arlyn Adams at St. Jacob’s Lutheran church Monday
afternoon. Interments took place in Woodlawn cemetery, with Messer, John Meyer, John Ritter, John Geitz,
Julius Ritter, Henry and Charles Plier, carrying the casket to its last resting place.
Had he lived until January 31st, Mr. Meier would have been 58 years of age. He was born in Greiswaldt,
Germany in 1881 and came to this community in 1895. His marriage to Miss Anna Pasch was solemnized in
Chicago May 19, 1907. The couple lived for a time in Lake Forest, ILL. where Mr. Meier followed the barber
trade. As an accomplished violinist and trombonist, Mr. Meier was a member of the Lake Forrest City
Orchestra.
For the past sixteen years, Mr. Meier represented the NcNess Company in this locality, and in this capacity he
became very well known.
Survivors are his widow, two sisters, Mrs. Leo Marquardt of this city and Mrs. Anna Smith of Chicago, a brother,
William Meier of Stiles, and a stepbrother, Jack Wachtel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Out of town relatives and friends at the rites were Mrs. Julia Farrell and son Walter of Wisconsin Rapids, Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Pascek, Sr., Mr. And Mrs. Charles Pascek, Jr., and son of Two Rivers, Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Kurchek of Gillett, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Pascek of Sampson, Mrs. Christine Moundt of Coleman, Mr. and Mrs. Jos.
Kinsinger of Oconto, Mrs. Jack Hyland of Spruce, Mrs. Anna Kotzke, daughter and son-in-law of Coleman and
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Meier of Stiles.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved family in this sorrow.
