Elwin G. (Bub) Matravers, 72, route 1, Oconto Falls, died Friday at his home after suffering a heart attack. Mr Matravers was employed as a rural mail carrier for several years before retiring Nov. 16, 1956. Prior to that time he operated a farm at Couillardville in Oconto County, where he was born Aug. 18, 1897. He was a veteran of World War 1. He was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association.

He married the former Ann Schumacher on Sept. 11, 1918. She survives along with a son, Bernard, of Monroe, LA, a sister Mrs. Charles Angus of Oconto Falls; and two grandchildren. A son, Roy died in 1968.

The body is at the John Crooks funeral home in Oconto where funeral arrangements are incomplete.
