.POSTAL EMPLOYEE STRICKEN WHILE AT WORK; DIES .




The sudden, unexpected death of Elmer F. Topel, on Thursday, May 15, saddened his family and friends here this past week. His death resulted from a sudden heart attack while at his work as postal clerk in Milwaukee. He died shortly after reaching the Milwaukee Emergency Hospital. The Topels came to Menomonee Falls nine years ago. Mr. Topel was employed in the Milwaukee post office for twenty-four years. He was fifty years old.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (nee Kregel); one son Kenley; his mother, Mrs. Nell Topel; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mildred Mercier, Green Bay; Mrs. Gladys Windross; 2 brothers, Fred and Howard, Pensaukee.

Funeral rites were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Oconto with burial at Brookside cemetery, town of Pensaukee. He married Evelyn KREGEL.

Note: Elmer Ferdinand TOPEL was born in Oconto County, Wisconsin, 09 Mar 1897. Known as "Budge". Baptized at Christus Lutheran church on 24 October 1897. Witnesses were, Johann Topel, Frau Wilhemina Topel and John Johnson. Elmer died 15 May 1947, in Milwaukee, WI., at 50 years of age.
