Edmund Francis Phillips, 60, died unexpectedly at his home at 112 Scherer-av, Oconto, Saturday morning.

He was born in Oconto on November 28, 1910, and married Elaine Pecor November 29, 1941, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Oconto. He was a taxi driver for the City Cab Company for 12 years, and then worked at the Scott Paper Company, Oconto Falls, for 21 years, retiring in 1969 due to ill health. He served with Company C, 127th Infantry, of the Oconto National Guard for 11 years, serving one year of active duty. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and its holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Emmy Lou) Lorenz of Hyattsville, Maryland; one brother, Eugene of West Allis; two sisters, Miss Marjorie Phillips and Mrs. Wilfred (Eunice) Leneau, both of Oconto, and three grandchildren.

The St. Ann's Society rosary and a parish vigil service were held at the Pinkard funeral home Tuesday evening. Final rites were conducted by the Rev. Donald Rose at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's church. Burial took place in the Catholic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert Pecor, Kenneth Pecor, Todd Leneau, Larry Leneau, James Leneau and Daniel Leneau.
