He was born on August 18, 1915 at New London, WI to Chester and Amelia (Learman) Doughty. He grew up there and farmed. In September of 1944 Earl married Rose Singer Jacob. Together they had one daughter. Earl lived in Appleton and worked at the Fox River Paper Company (30 years) until his retirement in 1977. Rose died in 1977 and Earl met and married Elaine Hartman in 1978 and moved to Wabeno where they were members of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his widow, Elaine; daughter, Kay (Scott) Bangert of Appleton; two grandchildren, Wesley Tucker, Jr. and Tammy (Kurt) Krzyzak; five great-grandchildren; 13 stepchildren, 53 step-grandchildren, 66 step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rose, stepchildren Robert Jacob, Marge Klein, Evelyn Wemer, one granddaughter, Sylvia Schmitt and great-grandson Johnathan Schmitt;
Friends visited with the family at the Presbyterian Church in Wabeno on Tuesday January 11 from 11 a.m: until memorial services at 1 p.m. Pastor Clifford Haskins officiating.
