Ephraim "Butch" Wood Jr., 62, Suring resident, died Friday, November 2, 2001 following a brief illness.

He was born February 28, 1939 in Green Bay to Lucille (Netzer) Wood and the late Ephraim Wood Sr. Ephraim married the former Judith Hockers on October 25, 1958 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

She preceded him in death on April 19, 1987. He owned and operated The Wooden Shoe Tavern in Lena until his retirement in 1992. Butch was a former member of the Lena Lions Club.

He is survived by four children, Candace Fazzi, Green Bay; Tammy (Steven) Hottenstine, Shawano; Jeffrey (Debra) Wood, Fort Leonardwood, MO; James (Stephanie) Wood, New Franken; six grandchildren, Cassandra, Christine, Chelsea, Jeremy, Steve, and Brittany; his mother, Lucille Wood, Green Bay; one sister, Shirley (Virgil) Johnson, Green Bay; two brothers, Bob (Jean) Wood, Michigan; Michael (Linda) Wood, Mountain; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Nevanpaa, Milwaukee; Tony Glinski, Michigan; one sister-in-law, Sharon Wood, Green Bay; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Curtis Wood; four sisters, Jacklin Nevanpaa, Joanne (Jack) Miner, Joyce Hilliard, and Pat Glinski.

Friends called at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Green Bay after 5 p.m. Monday, November 5 until time of service. Memorial service was 7 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Burial in St. Charles Cemetery, Lena.
