Mrs. Wahl had been in poor health and was critically ill in the spring, but in recent weeks was making a remarkable recovery. Her death is a shock to her family and friends. The Rev. L.G. Theil of South Byron, former pastor of the church, officiated at the rites. Interment took place in the Morgan Cemetery with Messrs. George Birr, Reinhart Birr, Frank Havlik, Otto Garbrecht, Ernest Calbra and Albert Raloff carrying the casket to its resting place. Flower girls were Beryl Calbra, June Calbra, Florence Raloff, Lois Rehn, Carol Schroeder and Lorraine Wahl.
Mrs. Wahl was born Emma Benning in Fond du Lac county, on December 20, 1885, and moved to Green Valley, Shawano county as a young girl. She was married to Albert Wahl and five sons and one daughter were born to this union. The survivors are the husband, the daughter, Geneva, at home, Albert Jr., of Green Bay, Fred of Los Angeles, Leo, Everett and Martin at home.
She is further survived by four brothers, Charles and Julius Benning of Green Bay, Herman of Eldorado and Oscar of Morgan. Two granddaughters, Gwenith and Janet Wahl of Green Bay. A brother Frank Benning died in 1917.
