Ethel was born August 20, 1904 in Aurora, Illinois to the late Albert and Clara (McClure) Beyer. Ethel married Walter Rhode April 3, 1921. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1986. Ethel worked at Wisconsin Dried Egg and Sylvester's Florist. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Ethel is survived by one daughter, Mary Augustine, Oconto; 13 grandchildren, 3l great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, Clarence Rhode and Mildred Hodges; two brother, Henry and Charles Beyer; and two sisters, Mary Avery and Allma Pedersen.
The family received relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday July 14, 2000. Funeral services were conducted Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gene Crooks officiating and burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
