OCONTO FALLS -Emanuel A. "Chick" Umentum, age 76, of 100 E. Highland Drive, died peacefully, Tuesday, February 16 at Sharpe Care, Ltd. Oconto Falls.

Chick was born on November 12, 1922 in Oconto Falls. He was the son on the late Anton and Nellie (Temple) Umentum.

Chick lived his entire life in Oconto Falls. He attended and graduated from Oconto Falls High School. He was united in marriage to Fern Jensen on April 10, 1943 in Oconto Falls. She preceded him in death on July 8, 1988. Chick and his wife owned and operated a dairy farm until the late 1960's. After farming, Chick was employed as the "Maintenance Supervisor" at Community Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls, retiring in 1988. Chick also enjoyed his part-time job as a school bus driver for the Oconto Falls School District. He was a member of Oconto Falls United Methodist Church all of his life. Chick was an avid card player, there was hardly ever a social event in which he wasn't taking part in a card game with family or friends.

Chick will be sadly missed by his three sons T e r r y (Beverly) Umentum, of Oconto Falls. Robert Umentum, of Auburn, WA, Mark Umentum, of Lena, his four daughters: Connie Anderson, of Rhinelander, Faye (Duane) Janik, of Lena, Carol (James) Blazek, of Kelly Lake, Wendy (Gerry) Hickey, of Abrams, his three sisters, Clemeth Scheusser Wauwatosa, Claudine Peterson, of Gillett, Zerlina Valentine, of Suamico, 18 grandchildren; five great grandchildren, special friend Margaret Van Ark, many nieces and nephews .

Besides his parents and wife Fern, Chick was preceded in death by his sister, Clistie Debauche, his grandson, Patrick Umentum and a son-in-Iaw, Duane Anderson. Funeral services were held Saturday at Jones Funeral Service with the Rev. Jodi Arpke-Lone officiating. Burial will at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family of Chick Umentum would like to extend their heart- felt gratitude to the entire staff of Sharpe Care, Ltd., Oconto Falls, for the kindness and concern during Chick's stay at the nursing home.
