Ervin A. Messman, age 65, of 2618 Lincoln Ave., Two Rivers, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 30, 1998, at home as the result of a heart attack.

Ervin was bom on October 15, 1932, at Two Rivers, son of the late Joseph and Vernetta Messman Jasper. He attended Two Rivers schools and was a graduate of Washington High School with the class of 1950. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard as a Sergeant First Class for many years and had active duty. He married Henrietta Schmiling on June 6, 1953, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. The marriage was officiat- ed by the late Rev. W. G. Haase. He was employed by Mirro Aluminum for 14 years, Messerman's Furniture Store for 22 years and retired from Eggers Industries. He was active in camping for many years and served as president of the Lakeshore Campers, a chapter of the Wisconsin Campers Association. He was also a member of the Two Rivers American Legion and was a very avid Packer fan. Erv enjoyed summers and his retirement at his summer home, in Townsend.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta; two sons, Gerold Messman and Kenneth Messman, both at home; his stepmother, Agnes Jasper, Two Rivers; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Donald and Gloria Jasper, Mishicot, Wayne and Cindy Jasper, Manitowoc, Francis Jasper, Milwaukee; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Otto and Karen Schmiling, Green Bay; two godchildren, Kathryn Peil, Green Bay, Kerrie Schmiling, Green Bay; special friends, Roger C. and Lamar Meihsner, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He will be especially missed by his pal, Lady.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Meson and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jasper Sr.; one sister, Audrey Jasper. Cremation will have taken place. Klieg & Strangle Funeral Home Two Rivers, assisted the family with arrangements.
